MYRA EKKEL

Myra Ekkel has been a central part of Customplan’s evolution for more than two decades. After entering the insurance industry in 2002 and joining the firm in 2003, she advanced through progressive leadership roles across administration and operations, ultimately being appointed Chief Operating Officer.

In her role as COO, Myra oversees national operations across multiple offices, including administration, human resources, financial management, compliance, and carrier relationships. She works closely with leadership to ensure the firm’s infrastructure supports advisor growth while maintaining strong governance and operational discipline.

Myra is known for her clarity, high standards, and steady leadership style. Her early career in hospitality continues to influence her people-focused approach — balancing accountability with approachability.

In 2008, she spent a year working abroad in New Zealand within a leading commercial real estate firm, an experience that broadened her perspective on organizational leadership and performance.

Today, Myra remains focused on strengthening systems, supporting teams, and positioning Customplan for sustainable, long-term growth.
