Karl Krokosinski
Karl Krokosinski has been in the financial services industry for over 34 years. A life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table for over 25 years with 14 Court of the Table and 12 Top Of The Table honours. He is an Excalibur Knight (one of only 3 in
Canada
) of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation.
A noted speaker, Karl has spoken on 5 continents at both industry and non industry symposiums and was the longest standing moderator of the Life Underwriters Association now known as Advocis. He has addressed universities, charities, trust departments, professional associations and even grade 4 students. Professionally, he concentrates on sophisticated estate planning techniques for both business and succession planning for his clients and is a trainer and educator of insurance associates and financial advisors. Karl was one of the original 7 founding managing partners of the national producer group called Equinox Financial Group Inc., and was awarded the managing partner of the year 3 times. Karl is the president and founder of Customplan Financial Advisors Inc , the largest Independent financial planning firm in the GVRD (Greater Vancouver Regional District) He has recently completed his 100th associate transition plan. Karl was also a founding member of Canadian Associated Independent Life Brokerage Agencies.
Karl is a past president and chairman of a credit union and was the past president of the
West Vancouver
(sunrise Rotary Club) earning the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a sessional instructor at
Mount Royal
College
for many years in marketing and professional salesmanship and when he had a few days became a level 4 ski instructor. He has sat on many boards of Public and Private companies as well as a few charitable foundations. Karl is a mentor and coach to many people in our industry and to many outside our industry. Karl believes in “Paying it Forward”.

Ian MacLean
Ian entered the Financial Services business 34 years ago focusing on credit and consumer financing for small business owners. He then developed a practice in Financial Management for business owners and became part of a collaboration of Accountants, Lawyers, Risk Managers as well as a Management Coach. His success in this area allowed him to pursue Estate and Business Succession planning.
In 1989, along with Karl Krokosinski, founded Customplan Financial Advisors Inc. expanding office’s throughout Canada. He was a consultant to the National Office of Equinox Financial Group in the development of the Electronic Sales Platform, including the Financial Needs Analysis and many of its Marketing Concepts.
Ian has written numerous training systems for the industry and has spoken extensively at industry and no-industry venues.
He specializes in the underwriting of large business cases and individuals with health challenges.
Ian not only helps create concepts, but he uses them to maintain his membership in the Million Dollar Round Table. |

Micheline Varas
Micheline Varas joined Customplan Financial Advisors in 1994, where she currently holds the position of Sr. Vice President, Living Benefits as well as Managing Partner of Customplan’s new Ontario division.
She began her career in the Financial Services Industry over 20 years ago and has developed a solid reputation working in conjunction with several insurers and their respective underwriters. Micheline has grown her personal practice and that of others by specializing in joint work opportunities. She is a consulting resource to financial advisors, large institutions and corporations on executive compensation and pension maximization planning. Micheline looks forward to helping Advisors maximize their practices.
She has extensive experience assisting the brokerage community as well as personal and corporate clients with creative, cost and tax effective solutions and concepts specifically in the areas of Income Replacement, Critical Illness, Long Term Care Insurance. She is the first Canadian recipient of the GBDS (Group Benefits Disability Specialist) designation.
A current Top of the Table (MDRT) member, she has numerous industry and non-industry publications, holds various training and educational events and has been a speaker at numerous international congresses (including The Million Dollar Round Table). Micheline is one of the founding moderators for the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies. |

Brad Logan
Brad has been an Independent Advisor since 1998.
Attention to client relationships, accuracy under pressure
and conservative behavior in complex situations are
hallmarks of his current popularity with clients in his
practice. He is capably supported by a one of the top
ranked insurance back offices in Canada that include
administrators, technical and underwriting specialists and
client services support those teamwork and follow-through

Terry Schorn
Terry Schorn is an employee benefit specialist within the Customplan Financial Advisors employee benefits division. He has 20 years of valuable and relevant experience in this arena. Terry is sought after in his field, and gives freely to speak at industry meetings and training sessions.
Key areas of expertise include marketing a strong team of professionals who bring years of experience in the areas of tax effective compensation for key employees, as well as cost effective and innovative employee benefit plans. Terry also assists financial advisors in growing their businesses in the areas of employee benefits, executive compensation, and shareholder funding.
In the past, Terry operated as an Investment Advisor in Vancouver and San Francisco. Terry also has experience dealing with small to medium sized businesses, specializing in financing from the private and public sector. |

Rob Hack
Robert Hack began his career in the financial services industry 15 years ago joining Customplan in 2005. A recognized financial advisor in his own right, Rob's responsibilities also encompass that of Branch Manager with Investia Financial Services Inc. and Senior Vice President of Customplan's investment division.
Rob's experience and reputation allows him to educate both associates and clients, providing them with strategic solutions to help them achieve their short and long term goals. His expertise in practice management is relayed in his ability to assess all areas of risk thereby incorporating concepts to assist advisors in growing their respective practices.

Robert Gawthrop
Rob has been helping individuals and companies with their financial goals since 1985. He has his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations. A life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), Rob is committed to life long learning and is also involved in educating clients and colleagues on debt elimination and retirement income and estate planning concepts.
Rob is an active professional musician and soccer player. He lives in
South Surrey
with Leslee (his wife) and their four daughters.

Becky Brenner
Becky has been in the financial services industry since
1998, beginning as a personal banker with CIBC. In 2000,
she transitioned into the insurance business and achieved
a consistent pattern of success and joined Customplan in
a position of sales and administration.
She established herself as one of the firms top producers
and was appointed as the Managing Partner for
Saskatchewan in early 2007. She continues to grow the
operation and has become well known for providing
service excellence. |

Colin J. Campbell
Colin J. Campbell grew up in the West Kootenay area of BC
in Robson and Fruitvale. After graduating from J.L. Crowe
Senior Secondary in Trail he attended Selkirk College and
then began his working career, first in Banking, followed by
15 years in Office equipment, mainly in Kamloops. In 1981
Colin and his wife Jane sold their office equipment company
and He began his career in financial services with Manulife
Financial.
In 1995 while living in White Rock BC, Colin and Jane
decided it was time to return to their roots and moved to
Cranbrook, Jane’s hometown. Colin joined Kootenay Valley
Financial and established his financial planning practice.
Becoming independent in 2005 was a natural progression of
the business plan.
Colin is active in the community and in industry associations.
Past President of the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary club he is
currently District Chair of membership development and club
extension and co-char of the District Conference 2009
committee. He also has served as secretary treasurer of the
Kootenay Chapter of Advocis for 12 years.

Sean Long
Sean has designed marketing concepts and products for six
of Canada's largest insurance companies. He is a
motivational speaker on Living Benefits, has given in excess
of 4,000 presentations in nine countries, three World Critical
Insurance conferences, and has spoken five times at the
Banff School. He has worked with The American Academy
of Actuaries, marketing departments, brokers and MGAs
across North America.
Sean's intense mentoring program has helped associates
reach their respective levels of success. He is passionate
about helping advisors acquire and educate new clients. To
ensure Customplan associates provide only the best advice
to their clients, thereby being subjected to highly
educational presentations, Sean has been instrumental in
bringing lawyers, doctors and bankers as speakers.
Sean is currently assembling a grouping of medical,
accounting, tax and advanced underwriting experts. These
specialists will become further resources to our associates
so that they can receive insightful knowledge thereby
benefitting their clients. Sean will provide training support
and assistance with career planning for all Customplan
associates.
With Sean's expertise, the experienced associate will be
able to consult tax lawyers and reinsurance underwriters for
advice on their large cases, and request second opinions
regarding medical underwriting.
